The Warriors are working to close out the Clippers in Game 6 but may have to do it with a hobbled Stephen Curry who went to the locker room after rolling his ankle.

The Warriors dropped two games at home to the Clippers, putting themselves in the position of having to win a Game 6 on the road in Los Angeles or risk the chaos of a winner-take-all Game 7 on Sunday. If they are going to close out the Clippers tonight, they may have to do with a hobbled Stephen Curry.

On a defensive possession in the middle of the first quarter, Curry was following Landry Shamet on a cut through the lane and stepped on Shamet’s foot, rolling his ankle. You can see in the video below that he immediately knew something was wrong.

Curry limped back up the court for the next possession and hit a 3-pointer before leaving the game at the next dead ball and heading back to the locker room. He returned to the bench early in the second quarter with Warriors staff telling Doris Burke that had just been stretching. He did return to the floor towards the end of the second quarter and didn’t appear to be noticeably bothered.

Curry has a history of ankle injuries and the ankle he rolled here, his right, is the one that has given him problems in the past. He’s had multiple surgeries and ankle sprains over the course of his career and tweaked that ankle twice this season.

The Warriors have come out strongly to begin this game with Kevin Durant taking the scoring load in the first quarter and Draymond Green picking the Clippers apart with his passing in the pick-and-roll. Still, the Warriors are nowhere near their ceiling without Curry at 100 percent. We’ll see how he plays over the rest of this game and deeper into the playoffs.
