Fantasy Baseball 2019 April 27 Pitcher Streaming Options
By Bill Pivetz
Which high-value pitching stream should you take a chance on for your fantasy baseball team?
Looking at the April 27 slate of games, there are a lot of aces on the mound. Of the 30 pitchers, nine of them are owned in at least 90 percent of ESPN leagues. Another four are owned in 70 percent of leagues. That leaves 17 pitchers for you to pick as streamers for your fantasy baseball team.
Some of the probable pitchers are not worth using as a streamer, whether it’s based on matchup or their recent performance. It’s too early in the season to take on that kind of risk. However, you have five months to make up any ground lost.
All pitchers listed will be owned in less than 40 percent of ESPN leagues. This gives the majority of owners a chance to pick up the pitchers and use them for Saturday’s game.
Brett Anderson, @ TOR
Anderson left his last start against the Blue Jays early due to an ankle injury. He has a chance to redeem himself against Toronto in his next appearance.

In the shortened game, Anderson allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 2.2 innings. He posted three quality starts in his previous four games.
Anderson has a good offense behind him and he can earn the win. The addition of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. into the Blue Jays lineup may turn some people away but the rest of the lineup is bad.
Jorge Lopez, vs LAA
The first of two Lopez’s to make the list. J Lopez takes on the Angels in his next start. He gave up one run too many in back-to-back starts, keeping him from getting a quality start.
He did strike out 10 White Sox on April 16, so there is value to be had. The Angels have the fewest strikeouts in the league but also have a .237 average.
The Royals don’t have the best offense as they have 114 runs scored. If Lopez can work around Mike Trout, he should be able to manage a quality start.
Reynaldo Lopez, vs DET
The other Lopez has a favorable matchup against the Tigers. Despite Nicholas Castellanos and Miguel Cabrera hitting back-to-back home runs on Friday, the offense scored just 79 runs on the season.
Lopez has the White Sox offense and their 110 runs backing him up. A win may not be likely but a quality start is possible. He enters this start with two straight.
The negative of Lopez is his control. He cleaned it up in his last start, 8:0 K:BB ratio, but in the four starts before that he had a 17:14 K:BB ratio. As long as you have a nice cushion in WHIP, Lopez is a good target.
These pitchers have some blemishes on the season. But, in a one-off setting, they can offer a boost to four of the five standard pitching categories. Though, there is a reason why they are on your waiver wire.
