NFL Draft grades for all 32 teams: Redskins, Panthers get high marks
Baltimore Ravens: A-
The Ravens are in the midst of a serious offensive transition. Moving from Joe Flacco to Lamar Jackson obviously requires different kinds of weapons. Grabbing Marquise Brown in Round 1 gives them the perfect kind of game breaker to help their second year quarterback.
Don’t be shocked if fourth round pick Justice Hill becomes just as important. He’s going to be a huge safety valve for Jackson. Third rounder Miles Boykin also gives the offense one more weapon to work with. This is a solid haul for Baltimore even if it doesn’t have a potential superstar.
Cincinnati Bengals: D+
Grabbing Jonah Williams all the way back at No. 17 was a nice move in the first round. Unfortunately, it’s probably the only place in the draft where the Bengals got anything better than decent value.
Drew Sample was a reach in the second round and it’s hard to project Ryan Finley as anything better than a career backup. This was a very questionable haul for a franchise that needed a serious infusion of talent.
Cleveland Browns: B
Give the Browns credit for nabbing a first round talent without a first round select. Getting Greedy Williams that far back in Round 2 was an amazing stroke of luck for Cleveland.
Sione Takitaki is an interesting choice in Round 3. He had a lot of issues in college, but his speed gives him a chance to make a mark in the NFL. None of these rookies will garner huge headlines for Cleveland this offseason, but this was a good haul for the Browns’ front office.
Pittsburgh Steelers: B+
The Steelers finally found a replacement for Ryan Shazier when they moved up to grab Devin Bush in Round 1. He’ll be an instant impact player for Mike Tomlin’s defense.
Getting Justin Layne and Benny Snell on Day Three also gives Pittsburgh two quality pieces. Don’t be surprised if both guys end up starting for the Steelers at some point this season.
