Cleveland Browns

Grade: B+

Best pick: Greedy Williams (CB, LSU)

Questionable pick: Sheldrick Redwine (S, Miami)

Sleeper pick: Sione Takitaki (LB, BYU)

Cleveland reportedly made numerous attempts to trade back into the first round but ended up not being able to and using their first selection at number 46 overall in the second round. Luckily for them, they still managed to pick up a player some considered the best at his position in LSU cornerback Greedy Williams. Williams had a roller coaster of a draft process, with some believing his character was what dropped him out of the first round, but there’s no denying his upside as a potential shutdown press corner at the NFL level. If you take the angle of having Odell Beckham Jr be the Browns’ true first round selection, winding up with a talent like Greedy Williams in the second is an awfully good value.

BYU’s Sione Takitaki is a prospect with a fascinating backstory who helped himself a great deal during the draft process. Despite his age being somewhat of a concern, Takitaki has the size and speed to develop into an every-down linebacker for Cleveland going forward. With an excellent pass rush in front of him, Takitaki could be poised to put up big tackle numbers while the big boys up front occupy space and allow him to flow freely around the second level of the defense.
