The Boston Celtics stunned the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1. What adjustments can Giannis Antetokounmpo and company make in Game 2?

The Celtics pulled out a shocking Game 1 win over the Bucks on the road, not just rolling them by 22 points but almost completely shutting down Giannis Antetokounmpo. Al Horford was given primary defensive responsibility and the Bucks managed just 27 on the 31 possessions he was matched up with Giannis. While his rim defense was enormous, Giannis didn’t have much success against anyone else either — he went scoreless on the 18 possessions he was defended by Kyrie Irving, Terry Rozier, Semi Ojeleye, Jayson Brown and Marcus Morris.

As good as Boston’s defense was, their offense may have been even better. Kyrie Irving roasted Eric Bledsoe and the Celtics hit 13-of-31 3-pointers (41.9 percent). Gordon Hayward also gave Boston a huge lift in the first half and finished with 13 points and 5 assists. The Celtics offense is at its best when they can take advantage of their depth of shooting and playmaking. When everyone is filling their roles efficiently they can incredibly difficult to stop.

In Game 2, the Bucks will be looking for ways to help get Giannis free on his drives to the basket as well as get the rest of their supporting cast going. Bledsoe had a quiet 6 points, Brook Lopez only chipped in 3 and, as a team, they were 13-of-39 on 3-pointers. The drive-and-kick game that carried them all season long will need to get better on both the drive and the kick elements if they want to even things up.
