ESports Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – Breakdown

Hello everyone! Freshie here and I am bringing you some new and a different type of article! All about ESports! You know, the industry of competitive video-gaming. Yes, that’s right, video games have reached a new height of entertainment and has broken down the doors for competitive gaming. There are people earning the top dollar in some of your favorite video games by competing in tournaments as a pro-league team, taking home close to six figures.

There are over 25 video games used in the ESports industry currently and while they aren’t all of your favorites, the tournaments get pretty intense. I do have to warn you guys though, not all books and betting websites cover every single ESports contest sadly. I’ll do my best to target the ones that are on major sites.

For today’s and majority of this weekend of 5/3-5/6, the main ESports tournament is for one of my favorites, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. A video game that pits two teams against each other, five verses five, in a search and destroy game type mode. One side plays as the “terrorist” and goes to plant the bomb at one of the two sites, A or B. The opposing team is playing as the Counter-Terrorist and their goal is to either eliminate the terrorist before they plant the bomb or defuse the bomb afterwards.

For this contest, the two teams will pick what maps they play on for the Best of 3 tournament format. Each map will end when one of the teams reaches 16 round wins. Overtime rules go to best of 5 if needed.

For betting purposes, it is just as simple and basic as sports betting also. We have the usual money-line which is the straight up bet. We also have the spread which is usually -1.5 or +1.5 which means a team needs to win 2-0 for the best of three this weekend. Lastly we have the O/U of 2.5 for this weekends. Taking the over means you expect the two teams to play all three maps and taking the under means you expect a clean sweep for one team.

Hopefully this wasn’t too much to take in but let’s get in to my top plays this Saturday! Good luck and hope you enjoy!

ESports Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – The Top Plays

Previous Day Bets:

Fnatic +125 Correct | Over 2.5 Correct

Gamerlegion +125 Correct | Over 2.5 – Incorrect

HellRaisers vs. Vega Squadron Over 2.5 – Incorrect

DreamEaters +475 – Incorrect | Over 2.5 – Incorrect

Fnatic (+130) vs. NRG Esports (-170)

H2H: NRG ESports 0 – 4 Fnatic (With 3 Overtimes)

Fnatic continued their win streak with a third win in a row by defeating NiP 2-1 early Friday morning and now they get to face NRG Esports, who have won 3 straight also. Fnatic owns the head to head battle easily once again with all 4 wins versus NRG. But once again, they are the underdogs.

More from FanSided

NRG Esports will most likely be looking to play on Dust2 and Train. Fnatic will be looking Cache and Mirage most likely. Brehze will be looking to carry NRG ESports with his 1.3 impact rating and .83 damage rating. We should be in store for a great one.

Bets to Place: Fnatic +130 | Over 2.5 Rounds

Vega Squadron (-185) vs. DreamEaters (+145)

H2H First Match-Up Between The Two: 0-0

DreamEaters almost made themselves look amazing early Friday morning, pushing their round 2 to 51 rounds with the Avangers but lost and got swept. Now they get a slighter easier match-up versus the Vega Squadron who they have never faced before.

The Vega Squadron have lost four straight now while DreamEaters have lost the last three. Scoobyxie is the one to watch for once again in this match-up. He has contributed to 73% of the rounds he has played in, in the past 3 months.

Bets To Place: DreamEaters (+145)

HellRaisers (-180) vs. AVANGAR (+135)

H2H First Match-Up Between The Two: 0-0

This could be one of the best match-ups of the morning with both squads coming off of some good wins. The HellRaisers have swept the past two teams they have faced while the AVANGAR’s won their last match-up after losing 1-2 to Optic, a bounce back.

The AVANGAR’s will be relying on ‘Jame’ Djami, a man who has a 1.3 impact rating and a .50 death rating, well above the average in this tournament. AVANGAR’s will most likely be looking to play on Mirage and Inferno, the same two as HellRaisers are skilled on. Like I said, this could be a pretty good match play for these early tournaments.

Bets To Place: HellRaisers -180 | Over 2.5 Rounds

Redemption Poa (-160) vs. Bulldozers (+120)

H2H: Redemption Poa 0-1 Bulldozers

We get the Grand Final of the ESL Brazil Premier League Season 8 with the Redemption Poa versus the Bulldozers. This will be a best of three series and the public is heavy on Redemption Poa at 76%. The squad has had two good back to back wins with 16-14 and 16-9, coming in to today’s final. The Bulldozers are coming off of 16-12 win after losing 5-16 in their match before that.

The Bulldozers do own the head to head battle winning 16-13 on March 27th, 2019 in the Brasil Game Cup tournament. We will also most likely be seeing Inferno and Mirage as two of the three maps with Bulldozer having a 67% win rate on Inferno and Redemption Poa having a 67% win rate on Mirage.

The main guy to watch for is ‘ALLE’ Santos of the Redemption POA as he 70% contribution rating per series and a 42% headshot rating. He could be the one to carry the team to their first victory over the Bulldozers and win the ESL Brazil Premier League title.
