Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – The Breakdown

Hello everyone! Freshie here and I am bringing you some new and a different type of article! All about ESports! You know, the industry of competitive video-gaming. Yes, that’s right, video games have reached a new height of entertainment and has broken down the doors for competitive gaming. There are people earning the top dollar in some of your favorite video games by competing in tournaments as a pro-league team, taking home close to six figures.

There are over 25 video games used in the ESports industry currently and while they aren’t all of your favorites, the tournaments get pretty intense. I do have to warn you guys though, not all books and betting websites cover every single ESports contest sadly. I’ll do my best to target the ones that are on major sites.

For today’s and majority of this weekend of 5/3-5/6, the main ESports tournament is for one of my favorites, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. A video game that pits two teams against each other, five verses five, in a search and destroy game type mode. One side plays as the “terrorist” and goes to plant the bomb at one of the two sites, A or B. The opposing team is playing as the Counter-Terrorist and their goal is to either eliminate the terrorist before they plant the bomb or defuse the bomb afterwards.

For this contest, the two teams will pick what maps they play on for the Best of 3 tournament format. Each map will end when one of the teams reaches 16 round wins. Overtime rules go to best of 5 if needed.

For betting purposes, it is just as simple and basic as sports betting also. We have the usual money-line which is the straight up bet. We also have the spread which is usually -1.5 or +1.5 which means a team needs to win 2-0 for the best of three this weekend. Lastly we have the O/U of 2.5 for this weekends. Taking the over means you expect the two teams to play all three maps and taking the under means you expect a clean sweep for one team.

Hopefully this wasn’t too much to take in but let’s get in to my top plays to kick off the new week! This tournament is a best of 1 series to kick off the opening rounds. Good luck and see the green!

Counter-Strike: Global Offesnive – ESea Premier Bets

Rooster (-150) vs Content (+120)

H2H: Rooster 1-0 Content

We actually are kicking this tournament off with a pretty poor match-up with these two teams. Rooster is coming in to this one with three straight losses, back to back 13-16 and then 5-16. But if we head to the other side, we have Content who are coming off of five straight losses.

The public is heavily on Rooster at 79% and it’s for good reason given Content recent track history. Rooster will most likely be carried by ‘Ju1ces’ H who has an impact rating of 1.22. He also has a solid 55% headshot rating while contributing to 73%.

Bet To Place: Rooster -150

Paradox Gaming (-950) vs. Dinq (+550)

H2H: First Match Between The Two Teams 0-0

This is the first time we see these two squads pit against each other and it’s also Dinq’s second match-up as a squad overall. The reasoning for them being the heavy underdog at +550. Paradox is coming off of a strong best of one match versus R!OT with a 16-8 win. They have won three of their last five also.

On the other end, Dinq is coming off of a huge disappointment of a debut, losing 1-16 to Breakaway. There’s not much too this squad as they are still getting used to each other. Paradox Gaming has the player to watch during this with ‘Dirty’ Barstad who has an impact rating of 1.06. Overall this match will be the fade bet unless you like risking money and want to chance it with Dinq.

Bet To Place: None | Huge Fade

Genuine Gaming (-150) vs. Athletico BH (+120)

H2H: Genuine Gaming 0-1 Athletico BH

Another one to add to the contest, these two teams are coming off of short stretches of matches also. Genuine Gaming is the favorite after coming off of a win versus Downfall. On the opposite end, Athletico BH is coming off 1 win in their past three matches which was versus Content.

When the two teams met in March, Athletico BH won the head to head 16-12 on the Mirage Map in 30 minutes. Being the underdog and with more experience coming in to this tournament, they could be the way to wager on.

Bet To Place: Athletico BH +120

Ground Zero Gaming (+120) vs. Breakaway (-160)

H2H: Ground Zero Gaming 3-3 Breakaway (1 Overtime)

Saving the best for last to kick off this tournament, we get two teams that have faced off versus each other 6 times! The two squads know how both operate which can make this best of one match like a chess match. Ground Zero is heading in to this match though with four losses and just one win in their last five matches. While on the other end, Breakaway has won three of their last five.

We’ll most likely see one of these three maps: Mirage, Inferno and Overpass. Mirage is a favorite that both of these teams have a high winning rate. Inferno is is another favorite almost at 50% for both squads too while Overpass is Ground Zero’s favorite with a 75% win-rate. But being just one round only, who knows what type of curve-ball we’ll see.

Bet to Place: Ground Zero Gaming +120 (They’ll be looking to bounce back and kick off this tournament correctly)
