Daily Fantasy Baseball is in full swing, and whether you play on DraftKings, FanDuel, Yahoo, or Fantasy Draft, this article is designed to help you find the best value plays across the board for today’s slate. These low salary targets are my top players to help you roster your stud bats and pitchers.

Welcome to FantasyCPR! If you are a regular reader, welcome back for baseball! If you are new we are glad to have you, and we certainly hope you make us your first source of your Daily Fantasy Baseball research everyday. We will have plenty of articles every day here, and no matter where you play, we are likely to have you covered.

What separates us from others, is that we have a solid team of writers all tackling different areas to write about. This allows us to hone in our content, and you give our best plays possible, as early as possible. We are without a doubt the leader in first-look articles for DFS, so if you just found us, welcome, and I hope you come back for more.

While most of our content is site specific, whether it be for hitting or pitching, this article is going to be different. What I will do here, is evaluate potential value plays for that particular day, across the four major DFS sites.

So the plan of attack here is, first I will highlight my top value plays for Yahoo and Fantasy Draft. I will dig up certain plays that I think fit their scoring systems, and possible flaws in pricing. I will then do the same for FanDuel, and then for DraftKings.

Finally after I break down my favorites from each site specifically, I will then finish up with top overall multi-site value plays. These are the top players viable across the industry, who are in line to out produce their respective salary, no matter what the site. All of these plays are just simply the best value plays that stand out across the industry, regardless of site.

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – Yahoo!

OF – Joc Pederson – Los Angeles Dodgers – $13

It seemed like the Dodgers faced about 75 lefties in a row there for a little bit, and this is a lineup that changes quite a bit on the daily depending on who is out on the mound for the opposing team. Today it will be Kevin Gausman, as the Braves have traveled all the way across the country from Miami to L.A., as the Dodgers return home from a disappointing loss in San Diego last night, as Hunter Renfroe blasted a grand slam in the ninth off of Kenley Jansen to give the Padres an 8-5 win.

Gausman has been better this year than his 4.83 ERA would suggest. He will strike guys out, and he is holding opponents wOBA from both sides of the plate under three. However, this long travel, and that fact that Gausman got shelled on the road this season has me ready to jump on these Dodgers lefties today.

In seven innings on the road thus far this season, Gausman has an ERA of 7.71, has given up two homers, and is allowing a wOBA of .402 against left-handed pitching. Sorry to make this all about Gausman here, but I wanted to focus in on his numbers in this spot first, because we have a few more Dodgers to get to

1B – Max Muncy – Los Angeles Dodgers – $12

It has been a disappointing season for Muncy so far after his breakout season last year. But things are turning around quickly for the big lefty, as he has now homered in back-to-back games. Those homers give him seven now on the season, and he has brought his RBI total up to 24, as both bombs were 3-run jobs.

I am attacking Gausman heavy with this lefty stack today, as the Braves did play 10 innings yesterday as well. With a handful of studs on the slate, and not much value to go around today, especially on Yahoo, this stack is not only one of the most affordable, the home run potential is off the charts. One last note about Gausman I almost forgot before we head on over to Fantasy Draft.

This is a situation I don’t ever recall happening here before, but Gausman will be pitching on two days rest, as he was ejected for throwing behind Marlins Pitcher Jose Urena. He should be fresh, but the whole breaking the pattern thing for some of these guys can be tough. Just a thought.

MLB DFS Picks
ST. LOUIS, MO – MAY 7: Max Kepler #26 of the Minnesota Twins bats in a run against the St. Louis Cardinals in the first inning at Busch Stadium on May 7, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri. (Photo by Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images) /

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – FantasyDraft

OF – Max Kepler – Minnesota Twins – $8,100

We call him Kepleroni in these parts, and the lefty just keeps getting better as he continues to sit atop this Twins lineup against right-handed pitching. The road trip will head from New York to Toronto, as they lost the rubber match against the Yankees 4-1 in an 8-inning rain shortened game yesterday. The Twins never play well in New York, and a series with the slumping Blue Jays should get this Minnesota offense right back on track.

Kepler is still kind of expensive on all of the other sites, but he is right in this value wheelhouse we see daily on Fantasy Draft. It was only a week ago when he destroyed Baltimore pitching to the tune of four home runs in three days, but his mini-slump since has brought his price down here just enough to warrant some consideration.

SP – Martin Perez – Minnesota Twins – $13,100

I do not see a whole lot of value bats today. Most of them are viable on all sites today, as they all seem to be in tune for the most part. One thing is for sure, with the way Martin Perez has pitched this season, and the fact that he has a fantastic match-up in Toronto, makes him a near lock on all SP2 sites in my opinion tonight.

Perez is very affordable on DraftKings at $6,600, and also in play at $33 on Yahoo. In fact, at $7,500 on FanDuel he will even warrant some GPP consideration from me there as well. He is now 4-0 on the season and carries a 3.41 ERA, after an impressive outing in his last start in Houston against the Astros. Perez fanned seven, scattering just four hits through eight innings in what was his best start of the season.

Back on April 15th, Perez faced Toronto in Minnesota, and he struck out five through six innings of work. He is getting better with each start it seems, and his price is not reflecting it.

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – FanDuel

SP – Jhoulys Chacin – Milwaukee Brewers – $6,500

Even cheaper yet on FanDuel today than Perez, and also in a seemingly good spot with the rash of injuries the Nationals are dealing with, Chacin will take the hill for the Brew Crew at home tonight. He will oppose Max Scherzer so getting the much-needed win here on FanDuel could be elusive, but after struggling a little for four straight starts against good offenses, he was much better in his last start against the Rockies.

Although he only struck out one batter, Chacin picked up a win and a quality start allowing just one hit in six innings in that home start against Colorado. With the Nats now losing Matt Adams and Ryan Zimmerman, rookie Jake Noll is forced into action. Trea Turner and Wilmer Difo also remain out, giving something called Carter Kieboom an everyday role as well. This lineup basically 5-9 right now is among the worst in the league, and although Chacin lacks K upside, he could pick up 35 FDP or so, and easily make value.

3B – Travis Shaw – Milwaukee Brewers – $2,400

Shaw has struggled this season, and usually when I see Scherzer is the opposing pitcher, I just move along. I do not think we can do that anymore, as Scherzer has no run support to go along with his 4.08 ERA, and currently has a 1-4 record. The K’s are still there, and no doubt he will rack up a few tonight, but this is a very tough spot for Max on the road tonight.

I don’t want to stack against Scherzer by any means, but Shaw is still a minor home run threat that should hit in the middle of this Brewers lineup tonight. He has faced Mad Max five times in his career, and has taken him deep once. In fact, Scherzer has really struggled with Christian Yelich as well, as he has tagged him for three homers. There are some other options for sure at the position, but Shaw under $2,500 is worth taking a shot if it fits your build.

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – DraftKings

1B – Nathaniel Lowe – Tampa Bay Rays – $3,600

Depending on what I want to do at first base today, I am considering going back to Rays rookie Nate Lowe here, as Tampa Bay will host the Diamondbacks and rookie right-hander Merrill Kelly. The big lefty Lowe got the day off on Sunday, after his first 0-for-4 of his young career took place at the hands of Dylan Bundy who spun a gem on Saturday. He had hit safely in his previous five starts to start his big league career.

The 23-year-old has risen through the ranks of the Rays system quickly, after finding his power stroke last year, hitting 27 home runs across three levels of minor league ball. He started 2019 in AAA, and hit three homers with a .429 wOBA in 90 plate appearances before getting the call about a week ago. I expect him to return to the middle of this Rays lineup again tonight, and although he has a great price on DraftKings, he is definitely in play across the industry.

OF – Stevie Wilkerson – Baltimore Orioles – $2,900

Because the Orioles have been so bad, my gut says that the majority of folks today just making lineups may give Josh Smith some love against this team at his cheap price. I am going to be on the other side of this one, and target a couple of cheap Baltimore bats against him instead. Smith is not a highly touted rookie or anything, as he is a 31-year-old journeyman for the most part, who spent all of 2018 in AAA.

Wilkerson is due to get bumped up in this lineup, as he has now hit safely in four straight games. He went 2-for-3 with a double on Saturday, and is currently 6-for his last 13 with a home run and four RBI’s. He is still a steal here under $3K on DraftKings, and viable everywhere else as well. I will say he has gotten a nice price bump on FanDuel at $2800 so I would say he is borderline there.

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – Across the Industry!

Welcome to the most important, and final page of the article. On most days, certain value plays will line up well on 2 or three, or even all of the sites covered in this article.

From the looks of it, I have a piece of every player coming up here on at least two sites in my early lineups, so just because you did not see somebody yet on another site specific slide from earlier, he could be coming up right now.

1B – Chris Davis – Baltimore Orioles – ($3,100 DK, $2,400 FD, $7 Y!, $5,500 FantasyDraft)

#FreeSquare season continues, as Davis is the other Oriole I have my eye on here tonight. We all know the veteran had a historically bad start, but he seems to be coming around at the plate over the last couple weeks, as he is now up to three homers with 13 RBI’s.

Davis’ price was getting back up to the point where he could be ignored, but after going 1-for-10 over the last three games, he has dropped back down to a favorable spot as far as salary goes. As far as match-up’s go, this is certainly a spot where Davis could get a hold of one at Fenway and take Josh Smith deep.

SS – Corey Seager – Los Angeles Dodgers – ($3,600 DK, $2,900 FD, $11 Y!, $7,600 FantasyDraft)

One more cheap Dodgers lefty, as the price of shortstop Corey Seager dropped yet again before his solid day at the plate yesterday. It has been a dismal season for Seager as he tries to rebound from injury last year, as he has homered just twice this season, and carries a batting average of just .232, but he is showing signs of life at the plate over the last couple of days.

After going 0-for-14 over a span of four games last week, Seager is 3-for-9 in his last two, with two doubles and two runs scored. With the pedigree and the plus match-up against Gausman in a weird spot, Seager should stay hot tonight. I truly believe his price would not be this low if pricing came out after Sunday’s performance, and my guess is it will be back on the rise as soon as tomorrow.
