The Miami Hurricanes may not be what they once were but the team has seen some all-time greats pass through wearing “The U”.

Miami football is one of the proudest programs in the nation. From Howard Schnellenberger putting his mark on the program in the 1980s when it was a discussion whether football would continue at Miami to today, The U has been home to some of the greatest college football players of all time.

From Schnellenberger to Jimmy Johnson to Butch Davis to Larry Coker, Miami has been able to tap into the fertile recruiting territory in south Florida and field some of the best teams the sport has seen. While there has been some peaks and valleys through the last several decades, the rise of Miami has been as inevitable as Thanos in Endgame.

Let’s go back and recognize the 25 greatest Miami football players of all time.

The list could have been 100 players deep and great players would have been omitted. That speaks to the volume of elite talent Miami football has enjoyed. For the 25 who made the cut, there is sure to be plenty of debate among Canes fans about who truly is the best Miami football player of all time.
