18. D’Andre Swift – Running back, Georgia

Earlier we talked about Kirby Smart’s affinity for running the ball instead of airing it out more with quarterback Jake Fromm. But when you have D’Andre Swift in the backfield, it is hard not to give him the rock.

And in 2019, Swift could be ready for a monster season now that Elijah Holyfield has gone pro. Swift has everything you want as a runner with his ability to run between the tackles, make guys miss in the open field and hit the home run play.

His 6.8 yards per carry is on pace to be a Georgia record which is crazy considering some of the running backs that have come through that program. And Swift seems eager to take on the role of the workhorse for the Bulldog running game and coach Smart is ready to comply.

“He’s going to get more opportunities,” coach Kirby Smart said before spring practice in an interview with WSB TV. “He’s been sharing touches, sharing touches. He’s been really a talented player. We’ve got to find a way to get him more touches, and he’s got to be able to handle the volume. A lot of that comes with a good offseason.”
