2. Chase Young – Defensive end, Ohio State

After just seeing Nick Bosa go number two overall to the San Francisco 49ers, Ohio State could be watching the same thing happen for Chase Young in 2020. After Bosa went down with his injury, Young was tasked with picking up the slack, and he did not disappoint. He led the nation in pressures with 77 and had 9.5 sacks, so the talent is evident even as a sophomore.

Physically, Young is the total package. He has a large frame (6’5″, 265 pounds) and can genuinely be put in the category of freak athlete. His burst off the ball gives tackles no chance and under the instruction of defensive line coach Larry Johnson, his hand usage and play recognition got better with every game. He also plays with a mean streak that is evident every time you watch him.

And did I mention Young did all this in 2018 with two sprained ankles?

If Young can continue to improve his game in 2019 I don’t see how he gets out of the top five of the draft. He is a different style of player from Nick or Joey Bosa but has just as much potential for greatness.
