Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – The Breakdown

Hello everyone! Freshie here and I am bringing you some new and a different type of article! All about ESports! You know, the industry of competitive video-gaming. Yes, that’s right, video games have reached a new height of entertainment and has broken down the doors for competitive gaming. There are people earning the top dollar in some of your favorite video games by competing in tournaments as a pro-league team, taking home close to six figures.

There are over 25 video games used in the ESports industry currently and while they aren’t all of your favorites, the tournaments get pretty intense. I do have to warn you guys though, not all books and betting websites cover every single ESports contest sadly. I’ll do my best to target the ones that are on major sites.

For today’s and majority of this weekend of 5/3-5/6, the main ESports tournament is for one of my favorites, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. A video game that pits two teams against each other, five verses five, in a search and destroy game type mode. One side plays as the “terrorist” and goes to plant the bomb at one of the two sites, A or B. The opposing team is playing as the Counter-Terrorist and their goal is to either eliminate the terrorist before they plant the bomb or defuse the bomb afterwards.

For this contest, the two teams will play one match-up on just one single map. The Best of One Series. So the only thing we’ll be targeting is Money-Line bets only.

For betting purposes, it is just as simple and basic as sports betting also. We have the usual money-line which is the straight up bet. We also have the spread which is usually -1.5 or +1.5 which means a team needs to win 2-0 for the best of three this weekend. Lastly we have the O/U of 2.5 for most weekends. Taking the over means you expect the two teams to play all three maps and taking the under means you expect a clean sweep for one team.

Content (+110) vs. Jade (-145)

H2H: First Time Facing Each Other

On one end we have a team looking to end their losing streak and on the opposite end, we have a team looking to continue their winning ways. Content is heading into this match-up for the win as they have lost their last five matches. Jade is looking to continue their win streak as they are coming off of a win of 16-12 versus Fanta.

The two teams are facing each other for the first time but are playing on one of Jade’s favorite map, Mirage. Jade holds a 67% win-rate while Content holds no percentage of winning. Jade also holds a player, ‘Klaw’, who holds a 1.32 impact rating and a .84 damage rating.

Bets To Place: Jade -145

Dinq (+110) vs. Downfall (-145)

H2H: First Time Facing Each Other

Dinq can’t find a win to save their team if they had a gun held to their head. They have now lost their first three matches, losing 7-16 to Genuine just last week. They had some promise as they pushed Paradox to OT but losing 17-19. I don’t expect their losing ways to change any time soon now. Downfall has just one once in their past five matches, winning their last match 16-13 to Rooster.

The two teams will be duking it out on a map that neither have won on with Inferno. The public is sitting on Downfall for obvious reasons and at 66% while the risk takers are sitting with Dinq at 33%. I honestly won’t shoot for two losses handed to me by Dinq though which means they may just win to stick it to me and the other doubters.

Bets To Place: Downfall -145

Evicted (+305) vs. Breakaway (-450)

H2H: Evicted 1-4 Breakway (4 Overtimes)

With another lopsided match-up of the morning, Breakaway will be facing Evicted for the 6th time while holding 4 wins to Evicted’s 1. Evicted has taken a break and is coming off of two losses in their most recent matches, losing 9-16 and 10-16 in them. Breakaway is coming off of two wins while winning three of their last five matches.

The two teams have chosen to play on Mirage, a pretty middle ground playing for both sides. Evicted holds a 55% win-rate on that map while Breakaway holds a 62% win-rate. Breakaway are the heavy favorites with the public as 82% are betting on them, leaving a lonely 18% with Evicted.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – Top Bets

ESEA Premier Division, Europe

X-Kom Team (+195) vs. Forze (-260)

H2H – X-Kom Team 2-2 Forze

We’re kicking off the Europe part of the ESEA Premier Division with two teams that are looking for a win to kick it off while struggling at the moment. X-Kom Team and Forze are equal when it comes head to head, both taking home two wins. X-Kom is coming off of a 11-16 lose while only winning once in their past five matches. On the opposite side, Forze is coming off of a 10-16 loss while only having one win also in their past five matches.

More from FanSided

The two teams will be playing on Inferno where Forze holds a win-rate of 79% while X-Kom is sitting at just 42% for their win-rate. The public is almost dead even on the bets with X-Kom sitting at 53% with the public and Forze is at 46%. This could be a close one as X-Kom is coming off with the win in their most recent head to head matches.

Bets To Place: Forze -260

Ago Gaming (-180) vs. Pro100 (+140)

H2H: Ago Gaming 6-4 Pro100

Very similar to the first match to kick off this division. both teams are once again looking for wins in a struggling time. Ago Gaming may hold the head to head battle but they have only one once in their past five matches, coming off of a 6-16 loss. On the opposite end, Pro100 is also coming off of a loss, 8-16, while winning just once in their past five matches also. Pro100 has the most recent win but will be looking to get some moment going here.

These two teams have also chosen Inferno but hold almost a stalemate with each other as Ago Gaming holds a 67% win-rate and Pro100 holds a 44% win-rate. The fans will want to watch ‘Yekindar’ Galinskis of Pro100, who has a 1.3 impact rating and a .84 damage rating. The public is more one sided here with Ago Gaming, sitting at 64% of the bets with just 36% on Pro100.
