4. Houston Texans

The Texans won the AFC South in 2018, but their season ended in the first round of the playoffs with a home loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts remain Houston’s toughest competition in the division, and one way to create some separation with Indianapolis is to shore up one of their weakest positions on offense.

Tight end was a virtual black hole for the Texans in 2018, with the uninspiring combo of Ryan Griffin and Jordan Thomas getting most of Houston’s targets at the position. The Texans brought in Darren Fells to add to their depth at the position, but Rudolph would give them a sure fire starter.

Houston already has a premier wide receiver in DeAndre Hopkins and a true deep threat in Will Fuller, but they have been missing the guy who can work the middle of the field and catch those 12-15 yard throws from Deshaun Watson. Rudolph can be that guy, giving the Texans’ offense a dimension it has been lacking since Owen Daniels was around.

The running game could also benefit from Rudolph’s steady blocking, which could help create holes for the duo of Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue. The Texans are definitely in win-now mode, and Kyle Rudolph would be a win-now move for Houston that is worth whatever the Vikings are asking for in terms of draft pick compensation.
