4. Corey Dickerson, LF Pittsburgh Pirates

Corey Dickerson is currently on the Injured List as of May 10, 2019, and he did reportedly suffer a setback that could sideline him until June. However, if he comes back and proves he is healthy as the deadline approaches, the Red Sox should call the Pittsburgh Pirates about him.

The addition of Dickerson, like Cabrera, would give the team more lineup options and lengthen the bench. Also, as would be the case with Cabrera too, he wouldn’t cost a lot as he is a free agent after this campaign.

Dickerson could be a bench bat, but he can also be used to cycle in and out of the everyday lineup. But there are some contingencies and some decisions would have to be made to really make this trade have impact, here it is:

Jackie Bradley Jr. is undoubtedly one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball. Although, his bat still hasn’t come around. If Dickerson is OK with playing right, which is a very deep right field at Fenway Park, Cora could move Mookie Betts over to center and start Dickerson in right field on days he wants more offense.

Or, Dickerson could simply be another depth player who can add more offense against right-handed pitching as a legitimate left-handed bat.
