2 new matches added to AEW’s Double or Nothing

AEW is pulling no punches in the lead-up to their inaugural pay-per-view, Double or Nothing, as the company has announced two huge matches to the upcoming card.
As Double or Nothing draws closer, some fans were starting to worry about how few matches had been announced for the May 25 card. But AEW has seemed to dispel that worry with the announcement of two matches in the span of two days.
The first match announced was Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Barreta) against the newest AEW signees, Jack Evans and Angelico.
In storyline, Barreta wasn’t satisfied with himself and Taylor being put in the pre-show battle royal and wanted a tag match instead. The Young Bucks begrudgingly accepted their request and gave them a tag match against the newly-reunited Los Gueros del Cielo of Angelico and Evans.
The second match announced was a massive six-woman tag match, with Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki and Emi Sakura taking on Ryo Mizunami, Riho Abe and AEW roster member Hikaru Shida.
AEW has made no secret of their scouting efforts in the Joshi scene in Japan, but this level of Japanese presence for Double or Nothing is unexpected.
These six women are no strangers to each other, but their past exchanges have been far from regular occurrences as all six wrestlers are from differing promotions. This match can be seen as a dream encounter, as it will be featuring past legends, Kong and Sakura, taking on today’s stars in Shida and Abe. This match might also give the AEW fans an idea of what Joshi promotions AEW is set to work with in the future as Tokyo Joshi, Gatoh Move and Pro Wrestling WAVE all have representatives in this contest.
Expect either of these matches to possibly steal the show as the talent level in both contests is immense and uncontainable.
