In response of the ongoing controversy surrounding Lars Sullivan and potential backlash from advertisers, WWE has fined the SmackDown star $100,000.

WWE SmackDown Superstar Lars Sullivan has been in hot water as of late due to past bigoted online posts and comments. Because of these circumstances and a potential backlash from advertisers, WWE has announced that Sullivan will be fined $100,000, according to an official statement. The statement reads:

"“WWE supports a culture of inclusion regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation, and we are committed to embracing all individuals as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.“Dylan Miley (aka Lars Sullivan) will be fined $100,000 and required to complete sensitivity training for offensive commentary uncovered from his past. WWE will also facilitate meetings for Dylan with community organizations to foster further discussion around the power of social media and the impact of your words.”"

It very well looks like Sullivan will indeed be staying with WWE for the time being despite his remarks. With that being said, it also looks as if Sullivan will be doing a lot of community work in the near future to make up for what he said that could result in him becoming a better person.

With Sullivan still on the SmackDown roster and will most likely be utilized on Raw as well for the time being, the fact that he was fined and not released by WWE is also controversial in its own right. Sulllivan has been getting a push lately, but will the WWE be pressured to write him off of television for a while or will they continue to promote him regardless?
