The Florida Gators made a big resurgence last season in Dan Mullen’s first year and now they look to take the next step and win the SEC East.
When Dan Mullen took over the Florida Gators program last season, he was tasked with revitalizing a program that’s been stuck in mediocrity. Mullen came out the gates swinging in 2018 as the Gators finished 10-3 including an impressive 41-15 victory over Michigan in the Peach Bowl. Now with a good chunk of talent returning, this team could be a serious threat to Georgia in the SEC East.
On offense, the growth of Feleipe Franks will be critical as he looks to take that next step, and the weapons around him are very promising. A plethora of talented receivers and perhaps the deepest running back group in the country will be difficult for most teams to handle. However, four new starters on the offensive line will determine the overall ceiling of this unit.
Defensively, expect more of the same in terms of high-end play. A few players have moved on to the NFL, but Florida seems to replace them with more elite talent. Jabari Zuniga will anchor the defensive front while C.J. Henderson is leading things on the backend.
So with all the talent on this team, let’s look at their schedule and see what 2019 holds for the Gators.
