In the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match some of WWE’s top names, and rising stars, are preparing to steal the show.

When you have Superstars like Ricochet, Ali, Andrade and Finn Balor in a match you can bet there’s going to be some death-defying aerials involved. Add in the big-match feel with high stakes on the line and they’ll up their game. Throw in ladders and they’re bound to blow the roof off the XL Center in Hartford, CT.

The other half of the match brings in the veteran Randy Orton, who is no stranger to big time matches, especially where sheer brutality is involved. And rounding out the last of the competitors are two big men in Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin with the returning Sami Zayn taking the final spot originally held by last year’s winner Braun Strowman. Out of all the competitors, only Corbin has been victorious in previous Money in the Bank matches, though he failed to cash in his contract and score a title victory.

On paper this is anyone’s match to win. Newcomers like Ricochet, Andrade and Ali have a chance to shine during the match and walking away with the Money in the Bank contract could propel their careers to the next level. This is also true for McIntyre. Since returning to Monday Night Raw in 2018 he’s been up and down with his momentum, always one step away from being in the main title picture. He’s got all the tools it takes to be the top heel in either Raw or SmackDown Live, all it would take is the office pulling the trigger on his run with either title.

Strowman seemed primed and ready to take that top spot and then he suddenly fell from grace. After being pulled from his title match against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, Strowman wound up in an angle with the hosts of Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update going into the WWE’s biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 35.

Now Strowman has been replaced again, this time by Sami Zayn who is coming in hot with a heel turn. Zayn hasn’t seen action for quite a while after being on the shelf to recover from double-shoulder surgery. Let’s hope his body holds up during what is usually a brutal bout.

Balor currently holds the Intercontinental Championship and was recently switched to the blue brand, where Kofi Kingston is currently holding the WWE Championship. A matchup of Kingston vs. Balor would be a showstopper, but tying up the Intercontinental title might not be what’s best for business right now.

Corbin is coming off a stunning upset over WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle in his last match at WrestleMania 35. There’s a longstanding tradition in the wrestling business of going out on your back to elevate another talent. The fans can’t stand Corbin and clearly they’re not supposed to. But the ones who make the decisions see something in him that might find him on top of the ladder with his second Money in the Bank win. Then again, the Viper could strike out of nowhere and steal the whole thing.
