PAC vs Hangman Page off of AEW Double or Nothing

One of the biggest matches on the Double or Nothing card has now been scrapped as PAC will not be appearing at AEW’s debut pay-per-view.

In an announcement that sent shockwaves across social media, PAC announced at an English independent show, Wrestle Gate Pro, that he would not be wrestling Hangman Adam Page or even appearing at AEW’s Double or Nothing on May 25.

Some fans might have thought this was a work but as time passed it has been reported by several sources that the match is indeed off.

Why? Apparently the main issue was “creative differences.”

Observant fans have seen that PAC has not lost a match clean since he won Dragon Gate’s major title, the Open The Dream Gate Championship, and it doesn’t look like PAC wants to lose clean anytime soon.

The Wrestling Observer reported on Saturday that PAC is being fiercely loyal to Dragon Gate and does not want to lose a match outside of Dragon Gate while he is their champion.

More from AEW

PAC appeared at Wrestle Gate Pro on Saturday and had a short match with Page which ended in a disqualification. That match, per The Observer, will be released by AEW for streaming this week. This might have been AEW’s way of appeasing fans and giving them at least a taste of the match that was promised to them.

Another rumor is that PAC is having visa issues again and that is why he wouldn’t be able to make the big show. This wouldn’t be a new issue for PAC as his problems with securing a proper visa is what kept him off WrestleMania weekend shows, such as the WrestleCon Supershow this past April.

Many fans have theorized that we might not see PAC again in AEW until after he loses the Open The Dream Gate Championship.

The big question that remains is who will face Hangman at Double or Nothing for the AEW Title now that PAC is gone?
