5 players who New York Jets need to be great in 2019
The New York Jets have had yet another active, interesting offseason. The team brought a lot of talent in and 2019 looks to be a year of change.
To some, the 2018 season was a year of progress for the New York Jets. Sam Darnold had his ups and downs, but he ultimately played well in his rookie season. Jamal Adams went from good to elite in his second year in the NFL and a few pleasant surprises emerged, like Henry Anderson and Chris Herndon.
The Jets finished the season 4-12, which was one loss worse than their 2017 record. Todd Bowles and his staff were let go and former Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan replaced him with former Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase.
Hiring Gase kicked off the crucial offseason for the Jets. Gase filled out his staff, Maccagnan spent millions of dollars in free agency and the draft proved kind as Maccagnan landed Alabama stud Quinnen Williams in the first round.
Although, that wasn’t enough to save Maccagnan’s job. He was recently fired, which was a surprise and sudden move after he upgraded a lot of areas by bringing in players like C.J. Mosley, Kelechi Osemele and Le’Veon Bell.
With a new coaching staff and a lot of personnel change, who are the five players that need to be great for the Jets in 2019?
