2. Chase Kyrie Irving

Once the NBA allows teams to start talking to players, one of the first calls the Nets should go to Kyrie Irving. It is almost certain that Kyrie Irving is going to leave Boston this year and move onto a new team and a new adventure. While Kyrie will surely have many suitors coming after him, Brooklyn could be near the top of his list.

Over the course of his career, Irving has proven that he will be an All-Star every season. His ability to take over the game and control the game stands out as he averaged 23.8 points and nearly 7 assists per game this season. While Irving was never able to take his Celtics to the NBA Finals, just like any star, Irving needs one or two pieces to help him get to the next level wherever that may be. By combining his talents with someone like Durant or any superstar, Irving can help lift a team to title contention.

For the Nets, the decision to sign Irving should be a priority over Russell. While Russell is a great player, Irving is better. While many are speculating that both Irving and Kevin Durant are going to be a combo deal, nothing is ever set in stone until it actually happens. If the Nets are only able to land Irving, they should move on from Russell and again try to bring in Tobias Harris. This would give them a lineup of Irving, Levert, Joe Harris, Tobias Harris, and Allen. Let’s not forget that the Nets will also be having extremely talented players coming off the bench. While this lineup may still not be good enough to win a title, it would make them one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

According to certain reports, Kyrie Irving will definitely listen to the Nets this offseason as he gets ready to make his decision, and the Nets should make him one their top priorities.
