The first round of the 2019 NCAA softball tournament has wrapped up. Here’s who is still standing in the super regional round trying to make it to the Women’s College World Series.

We’re officially wrapped up with the regional round of the 2019 NCAA softball tournament. The field of teams competing for the national title has been cut from 64 teams all the way down to 16 teams.

While most of the top-seeded teams in the regionals advanced on, not all of them did. Clearly, the most noteworthy moment of the regional round was James Madison surging past the Michigan Wolverines and claiming the Ann Arbor regional against one of the proudest softball programs in the country.

The Dukes are advancing on to just their second super regional ever with the win. And, well, they’ll be joined by plenty of high profile college softball programs in the super regional round.

Teams alive for a trip to OKC and the Women’s College World Series:

  • Oklahoma
  • Northwestern
  • Alabama
  • Texas
  • Florida
  • Tennessee
  • Florida State
  • Oklahoma State
  • UCLA
  • James Madison
  • Minnesota
  • LSU
  • Arizona

Norman Super Regional

The Norman super regional is set between the Oklahoma Sooners, who are hosting, and the Northwestern Wildcats. Oklahoma won the Norman regional and, as the No. 1 overall seeded team in the 2019 tournament, is hosting the super regional against the Wildcats.

Tuscaloosa Super Regional

The Alabama Crimson Tide will host Texas in the Tuscaloosa super regional. The Crimson Tide and the Longhorns advanced on after winning the respective regionals that they hosted. This super regional might be one of the most evenly matched as Alabama enters as the No. 8 overall seed and Texas is the No. 9 overall seed.

The schedule for the best of three series is as follows:

  • Game one: Thursday, May 23 at 8:00 p.m. Central Time

Gainesville Super Regional

The Gainesville super regional features arguably the most intriguing matchup of the super regional round. SEC rivals Florida and Tennessee face off as both aim to make it to Oklahoma City so that they can claim a national title. It is worth noting that the Lady Vols won the regular season matchup between the two teams in Gainesville.

The schedule for the best of three series is as follows:

Game one: Friday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time
Game two: Saturday, May 25 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time

The schedule for the best of three series is as follows:

Game one: Friday, May 24 at 4:00 p.m. Central Time
Game two: Saturday, May 25 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time
Game three (if necessary): Sunday, May 26 at 3:00 p.m. Central Time

Tucson Super Regional

The Ole Miss Rebels survived one of the toughest regional matchups and will now be headed out west for the Tucson Super Regional. The Arizona Wildcats will host the Rebels in what could be one of the most evenly matched super regionals.

The schedule for the best of three series is as follows:

Game one: Friday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time
Game two: Saturday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. Central Time
Game three (if necessary): Sunday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. Central Time

Seattle Super Regional

Both Kentucky and Washington made it through their regionals with little issue and now the Wildcats will head to the Pacific Northwest to play in Seattle. The Huskies cleared through one SEC team in Mississippi State without too much of a challenge, will the same thing happen in the next round of the NCAA tournament?

The schedule for the best of three series is as follows:

Game one: Friday, May 24 at 8:00 p.m. Central Time
Game two: Saturday, May 25 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time
