Oklahoma football schedule 2019: Game-by-game predictions
Oklahoma football will be without Kyler Murray in 2019 but Alabama transfer Jalen Hurts looks to lead the Sooners to another Big 12 title and a Playoff berth.
No matter who head coach Lincoln Riley has leading his offense, it succeeds. While a National Championship Game appearance has not resulted from this yet, his past two seasons kept the Oklahoma football program in the spotlight. From Baker Mayfield to Kyler Murray winning Heismans and being the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, the time is now for Alabama transfer Jalen Hurts to operate the Sooners potent offense.
After losing in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff the last two seasons, the hope is Hurts and his championship pedigree will be what pushes Oklahoma into the National Championship Game. Could Hurts see his former team in the Playoff? That’s one of the looming storylines for the 2019 season.
For Oklahoma to get there, however, they’ll have to see Hurts get acclimated to the offense just as seamlessly and quickly as his two predecessors. Plus, they’ll have to replace multiple starters on the nation’s top offensive line and leading receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.
Is another Big 12 title in store for Oklahoma football? Is Texas a capable challenger to their throne? Let’s take a game-by-game look at the Oklahoma football schedule and make early predictions, which are subject to change later this summer.
