AEW Double or Nothing preview: Britt Baker vs. Nyla Rose vs. Kylie Rae
By Paul Bradley
One of the biggest matches of this weekend will be Double or Nothing’s marquee women’s bout, Nyla Rose vs. Britt Baker vs. Kylie Rae.
In one of the most hyped matches of All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing, AEW will pit their three aces of their fledgling women’s division against each other.
Britt Baker, the first woman to sign an AEW talent contract, is known for her time with companies like Women of Honor, Stardom, RISE and Shimmer. Baker is a practicing dentist in her personal life and incorporates elements of that into her wrestling gear and her move-set. AEW looks to be grooming Baker to be one of the biggest stars of the company moving forward and a win in this match could really help elevate her in the fan’s eyes.
Nyla Rose, the first openly transgender wrestler to be signed to a major company, has been a fixture of companies such as Warriors of Wrestling, Sendai Girls and Marvelous. Rose made her first appearance for AEW at the Double or Nothing press conference when she confronted her future opponent, Kylie Rae. Rose is a powerhouse and will likely be taking on the role of the immovable object in this contest. Rose has talked a lot of trash heading into this match so this is a must-win situation for her to back up what she has been claiming.
Kylie Rae, one of the most underrated and unknown members of the AEW roster, is known for her time with companies like Freelance Wrestling (where she was recently the champion), AAW and RISE. The Chicago native has a very bubbly happy-go-lucky personality and has been compared to WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley quite a bit. Rae has the most to prove the most in this match as she is relatively unknown to the majority of the AEW fanbase, and a win for her could solidify her place as a top contender in all the new fans’ minds.
Every woman in this match needs this win badly, as this win could define their AEW careers going forward. No one can afford to lose, either, so expect this match to be intense and for all these competitors to leave it all in the ring. Whoever wins this match can hypothetically already lay their claim to the future AEW Women’s Championship.
