One of the big wild card matches on the Double or Nothing card this weekend will be SCU facing off against CIMA and his OWE tag partners.

SoCal Uncensored, a former ROH stable-turned AEW unit, will be taking on newly-announced AEW roster member CIMA and two of his OWE proteges. The SCU side of the match will feature the longtime ring veterans Frankie Kazarian, Scorpio Sky and Christopher Daniels.

The OWE side is the X factor in this match as two of the three men in the match will most likely be new to a lot of the audience.

CIMA, the former ace of Dragon Gate, has been making lots of moves over the past few years to establish a whole new generation of talents. CIMA’s set his sights on one country in particular though, China.

Lindaman, a former heel of Dragon Gate since 2014, is one of CIMA’s right hand men and is a constant presence in Strong Hearts. T-Hawk, at one point billed as “The Next Ace of Dragon Gate”, is also at CIMA’s side in Strong Hearts. CIMA has been cultivating T-Hawk for years and has an immense amount of faith in him. T-Hawk has also really come into his own during his time with Strong Hearts.

For those who don’t know, OWE or Oriental Wrestling Entertainment, was established in 2017 by Huayang Fu, a businessman with some disposable cash to throw around. Fu had a vision for what he wanted OWE to be as he recruited the first generation of OWE wrestlers from the Shaolin Temple of kung-fu and also brought in CIMA to teach.

CIMA ended up decreeing that his future lied in OWE and he was going to dedicate most of his future time training, polishing and traveling with the OWE students. He then created a stable, named Strong Hearts, which featured his Dragon Gate proteges and his aces in the first OWE class, to tour around the world promoting his new partnership with OWE.

SCU, on the other hand, will be looking to prove that they are up to the task of fighting two intense up-and-comers and CIMA.

SCU has produced videos of themselves on social media working hard in their workouts and their in-ring training, which has helped set up how fast-paced this match is set to be.
