High Value Forwards/Centers

Players costing over $12,000

Brook Lopez (at TOR – $9,500): Needs 37.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.6 fantasy points against Toronto. I still don’t mind Ibaka, especially with the series heading back to Toronto. But his minutes aren’t as guaranteed as those of Lopez, who will definitely play big minutes and get plenty of opportunities with his shooting and shot blocking. Lopez may have to carry more of the load with the way Mirotic played in Game 5. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Norman Powell (vs MIL – $9,000): Needs 36.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 13.3 fantasy points against Milwaukee. Powell was down in Game 5 but the minutes and chances will still be there for him. And with the series back in Toronto, he’ll probably find more comfort back at home. I’m not worried about Powell. He’s been a game changer for the Raptors and is playing with a ton of confidence right now. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Marc Gasol (vs MIL – $13,500): Needs 52.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 13.2 fantasy points against Toronto. Gasol was down in Game 5 but his performances in Toronto are proven. He’s been great at home and I expect things to tick back up for him. It’s a high salary and you can’t afford the same miss, so that does make him a slight risk. But again, he’s proven in Toronto. You should trust him. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
