Welcome to this Daily Fantasy Golf piece from FantasyCPR.com. Here you will find players to target on FanDuel, for this weeks Memorial Tournament, taking place at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.

In this article, I will present to you some picks to consider from each price tier for Daily Fantasy Golf on FanDuel. Some plays will be geared toward cash games, and some for GPP tournaments. Some of course will also technically qualify as both. As we break each play down, I will be sure to specify which type of contests I am targeting that player in.

I will give two players to target from $11K up to the top salary, two targets from the $10K-$11K range, and two from the $9-10K range. After that will come my top value plays from the $8-9K range, along with a couple of GPP flyers to consider for tournament play. Last but certainly not least, I will end the article the ever popular sample lineup we like to do here at FantasyCPR.

I used to give a quick recap here from the previous week, but with MLB in full go, I am forced to scrap that portion of this article in an attempt to shorten things up. If you are ever curious as to how things worked out, my picks along with the other top experts in the field are tracked at Daily Overlay.

PGA Championship

Daily Fantasy Golf: FanDuel PGA – Top Tier Picks: ($11,000+)

Rory McIlroy – $12,000 – (Cash/GPP)

Pricing seems rather soft this week in general, as this is the first week I can remember in a non-major where there just seems to be a ton of value. In my opinion, the quality of value at the bottom makes the top player in the field viable in all formats, and McIlroy is that golfer this week for me.

Rory comes into the Memorial off of back-to-back T-8 finishes, and he also T-8 here last year. While I think you can pay up for McIlroy in cash games, it may not be necessary. However, we will sort that out at the end with the sample lineup.

Although we have some top names in this field, it seems that most have a question mark or two to consider other than McIlroy. Tiger Woods is coming off a missed cut at Bethpage, and although he is a five-time winner here at Muirfield Village, you still have to worry a bit after the PGA Championship. I think Woods is a great GPP play, and I will have some exposure, but my next target is really checking all of the boxes this week.

Patrick Cantlay – $11,000 – (GPP)

Although I just stated pricing is pretty soft for the most part this week, I guess that isn’t completely true in this range on a few guys. Justin Thomas is priced like he is not coming off of a six-week wrist injury up in this range, and Jordan Spieth is still getting a little more credit salary wise than he may deserve. However, another guy that may look a bit too expensive here in Patrick Cantlay actually makes me want to play him more.

At first glance, just like Spieth and JT, this price looks way to high for Cantlay, but with what he has done in last three events, he is arguably one of the hottest golfers in the field. He now has three straight top-tens, and two of which came at the Masters and the PGA Championship. On top of that, he played well here at Muirfield last year, and grabbed a solo fourth.

Cantlay is cash game viable this week, but it will be hard to pass on Matt Kuchar for $100 less. However, to spin that around, Kuchar will likely be the highest owned golfer in the field this week, and for $100 more, Cantlay looks like the perfect ownership pivot for GPP play. I will have plenty of both here, as they are looking like my favorite plays of the week.

Daily Fantasy Golf: FanDuel PGA – Mid Tier Picks ($10,000-$11,000)

Matt Kuchar – $10,900 – (Cash/GPP)

It will be really hard for me not to start every lineup I make this week without Matt Kuchar. He is easily my top play for the price, as I just can’t see why he does not get a little more respect. Let’s face it, if you run a model, Kuchar probably came out number one this week. If you look at recent form and course history, Kuchar likely also came out on top. So why is he under $11K?

I wish I knew but all I can do is lock him in. I am not a huge fan of the upper echelon this week, and I am considering going 100% Kuchar in all formats. I will definitely be pairing him up with Cantlay quite a bit, as the pair seems to have the best combination of safety and winning potential. Kuch won here at Muirfield back in 2013, and his WORST finish in the last ten years here was a T-26 in 2015. This course is a perfect fit for his game, and he crushes here every year. This is chalk I am gobbling up.

Hideki Matsuyama – $10,700 – (Cash)

More solid under priced value here, Matsuyama is looking like the perfect compliment to Kuchar to anchor the cash game lineup this week. Hideki is another past Memorial Tournament champion, capturing victory in 2014 in his debut. He has teed it up here every year since, added another top-five in 2015, and T-13 last year.

On top of the solid course history, Matsuyama is another top golfer quietly creeping back into form. He was abysmal at times last year fighting through injuries, but all of that seems to be long gone, as he has not missed a cut yet all season. He comes into Muirfield off of a T-16 at the PGA Championship, in what could have been a much better finish if it wasn’t for a rough Sunday, and I fully expect him to be right in it in similar fashion this week.

I won’t be overly heavy in GPP tournament play as I kind of prefer an ownership pivot to Tony Finau, but Finau could be just as popular with his good finish last week. For what it is worth though, Matsuyama seems like a much better fit here at Muirfield, and I have to give him an advantage over Finau for comparison.

Daily Fantasy Golf: FanDuel PGA – Low Tier Picks ($9,000-$10,000)

Rory Sabbatini – $9,800 – (Cash)

Moving right along and into our $10K range, Rory Sabbatini continued his stretch of dialed-in golf last week at the Colonial. He shot a 67 on Sunday to notch a T-6 finish, giving him near back-to-back top-fives, and increasing his stretch of top-20’s to four straight events. Sabbs T-10 at the RBC Heritage to start the run, and going back even further, he has not finished worse than T-39 in nine straight, going all the way back to early February.

I love the consistency here, making Sabbatini another near cash game lock, but I am having some doubts this week. He keeps playing good, even increasingly better, yet his salary stays the same or goes down. While Rory has a T-2 here at the Memorial Tournament back in 2012, he has only played this event once in the last three years. That turns me off a little, considering he T-44 last year in the lone appearance in the stretch. However, he is playing too good to fade right now at this price for cash games, and he will once again be in my lineup this week.

Jim Furyk – $9,500 – (Cash)

Speaking of too cheap cash game locks, Furyk continues to get it done. Since his solo second place finish at the Players Championship, it has been a little up-and-down, but he bounced back well off a couple of missed cuts his previous two times out. Furyk finished T-13 last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and despite the two recent missed cuts, he has five top-25 finishes in his last seven.

Furyk is a regular here at the Memorial, but despite being a great course fit, it has not exactly translated to success over the last few years. He has missed the cut in each of the last two years, but overall he has missed just three cuts here in the last ten years. Also on the positive side, in that ten-year span, Furyk also has five top-20’s here at Muirfield Village. It doesn’t quite feel as safe as it normally does, but as far as this price range goes, there is no comparison for me.

Hao-Tong Li – $8,800 – (GPP)

First of all, holy value this week. Absolutely insane to me how many golfers I want to roster under $9K this week on FanDuel. Usually when I am narrowing down my player pool from about 20 to 14 or 15, I can’t find anybody I necessarily want  to play way down here, however this week is quite the opposite.

More from FanSided

We have the obvious. Russell Knox is way too cheap as a late add to the field at this same price.  He is coming off of a bogey-free 65 Sunday to finish T-8 at the Colonial last week, and that puts him firmly in cash game play once again. But at a similar price point GPP pivot to Kuchar/Cantlay, I really like this Li/Knox pivot as well.

Li has not been as consistent as Knox, but the 23-year-old has been quietly playing good golf as of late. He has not played much on the PGA Tour since missing the cut at the Players Championship, but he has improved in each finish since, and wasn’t bad at the majors despite the elements. Li has all of the tools to pop, and another first time winner here at Muirfield Village would not be a surprise at all. If he can stick some approach shots and make some birdies, this could be his week.

Peter Uihlein – $8,600 – (GPP)

Because I cannot write them all up, and I can’t play them all either, let’s at least elaborate a bit on all of this value before I get to why I am choosing Uihlein this week. Joaquin Niemann is in another great spot, Jhonny Vegas is too cheap again, Tyrell Hatton is also in play, and even the bonus GPP Flyer this week Talor Gooch is coming off a decent T-29 last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and could make some noise here. Sorting through this value and picking the right plays could be vital, and I think I will be a week ahead of the curve on Uihlein, although all of those guys above seem just as viable this week as well.

In his debut at the Memorial in 2017, Uihlein T-25 at 2-under par. Last year was even better, as he finished alone in fifth place at 13-under par. The 29-year-old has been somewhat streaky throughout his career, and after a run of missing three straight cuts, he has now put together back-to-back fantastic tournaments. He T-5 at the Byron Nelson with by firing a third round 8-under and a final round 7-under, and followed that up with a T-13 in his next action last week at the Colonial. I will likely spread out this ownership among four or five of these guys, but right now Uihlein is my favorite of the bunch.

***Bonus GPP Flyer: Talor Gooch – $8,000***
