NXT UK recap for May 29, 2019: Season Finales and New Beginnings

Cup of coffee in Gallus’ kingdom
Gallus, national heroes of Scotland, are in competition again. This time, it’s tag team action, with Mark Coffey and Wolfgang squashing Carlos and A-Kid. Yes, his name is A-Kid, a kid. A kid was beaten up by two grown men on this week’s NXT UK.
Mostly, this match feels like it’s here to establish that Gallus is still a credible threat in the age of Imperium, while also clarifying the group dynamic a bit more. Joe Coffey is the de facto leader, Mark Coffey is the level-headed one and Wolfgang often needs to be held back, no matter the situation.
But yeah, Romo and A-Kid never stood a chance, and just take turns getting beat up for periods of time. Mark Coffey even gives A-Kid a wedgie at one point — inadvertently, but a wedgie all the same — before slamming him to the ground.
Following a stretch where he’s full nelsoned half-way to the grave, A-Kid finally tags in his partner. Romo is pumped as hell and shows it, only the would-be hot tag becomes an approximately -19 degree Celsius tag as he gets chopped to the mat by Coffey. In a matter of seconds he gets picked up, kicked hard, and power slammed down for the three-count. Coffey and Wolfgang run up the score in front of their hometown faithful. The lesson here of course is to never bring your hopes and dreams to a Gallus fight.
