The San Francisco Giants are having another terrible season. They need some great prospects to come up if anything is going to turn around.

It’s been an incredibly tough year for the San Francisco Giants. The only National League team worse than them is the Miami Marlins. That’s saying something — have you seen the Marlins roster?

It’s been quite the fall from grace for the Giants. They went from borderline dynasty when they won their third World Series in five years in 2014, to having their third-straight lost season. They sit at 21 wins as of Wednesday night. It’s quite pathetic for a team that actually has talent.

Evan Longoria and Buster Posey were once two of the best at their positions in all of baseball. Now, they are a shell of their former selves. Nobody on the team has 10 home runs yet. Things are in bad shape up and down the lineup.

Madison Bumgarner isn’t pitching like an ace, but he still has the ability in his arm in the right situation. Jeff Samardzija is pitching better than he has in a few seasons. Yet, it doesn’t matter. The Giants are second-to-last in the league in batting average, third-to-last in runs scored and second-to-last in OPS.

Even their prospects come with bad news. Their top two prospects, catcher Joey Bart and outfielder Heliot Ramos, are both injured. Their fifth-best prospect, pitcher Logan Webb, is currently in the midst of an 80-game suspension after a positive drug test. Their third-ranked prospect isn’t even 18 years old yet.

Many other prospects are still far from ready to make the leap to the Major Leagues, but the Giants prospect pool still has some very interesting pieces that could help them immediately if called upon.
