9. CB Jalen Ramsey, Jacksonville Jaguars

If there was one word to describe Jacksonville Jaguars’ cornerback Jalen Ramsey, it might be brash.

Of course, there’s plenty of other adjectives when it comes to the three-year cornerback. The 24-year-old defender is a two-time Pro Bowler and was named to the All-Pro team in 2017 in just his second season in the league. The former Florida State Seminole has come to play every week during his brief career, starting all 48 regular-season contests and all three of the Jaguars’ three postseason games in ’17. He finished with 65, 63 and 65 tackles, respectively, over that span.

Ramsey has picked off at least two passes in each of his three campaigns and owns a total of nine interceptions. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that in 48 regular-season contests, the 6-foot-1, 208-pound cornerback has knocked down a combined 44 passes – totaling at least 13 passes defensed each year.

But 2018 wasn’t exactly a banner year for Ramsey and a team that won just five games after a 3-1 start. He currently ranks No. 28 on the cornerback list via Pro Football Focus (subscription required). As a rookie and this past season, he earned an identical grade of 72.8. That’s in stark contrast to 2017 when the number was 91.3

So did the talented Ramsey peak in ’17 and are wide receivers on to his game? It would be tough to bet against this talented defensive back.
