4. Ricochet (c) vs. Pete Dunne vs. Adam Cole in a Triple threat match for the NXT North American Championship

The black and gold brand of NXT is known for putting on stellar matches, but on October 10, 2018, they went above and beyond when Ricochet defended his NXT North American Championship against Adam Cole and the NXT UK Champion Pete Dunne.

Despite the contrasting styles, these three men tore the roof off the arena that night, leaving every little bit of themselves inside the ring. Usually in a triple threat you’ll see one of the competitors pitched from the ring so a one-on-one encounter can occur. But in this match they seamlessly incorporated spots that would see all three men battling consistently.

Dunne’s hard hitting style complemented Ricochet’s aerial attack and combined with Cole’s finesse proved to be a highlight reel of spots that could never be duplicated. The false finishes kept the anticipation high and had the crowd running through every chant, from “this is awesome” to “fight forever.” But it would be Ricochet coming out on top with a well-placed 450 springboard splash to retain his title and solidify his name as “The One and Only.”
