After 14 years without Champions League glory, Liverpool wins its sixth Champions League title with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Mohamed Salah’s first-half penalty started the scoring, and Divock Origi ended the game with his second-half strike, bringing the Champions League trophy back to Anfield.
Twitter was sure blazing after Liverpool avenged last year’s Champions League final loss to Real Madrid by beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 inside Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano.

The goal that won a Champions League. Not @LFC’s most exhilarating performance but a meritorious award for a truly outstanding season. Congratulations. pic.twitter.com/iELgmPrU9Y

Congratulations to Liverpool. Forgettable final, but still one of the most dramatic Champions Leagues we've ever seen.

Tonight’s win is Liverpool sixth Champions League title and its first since beating AC Milan in the 2005 final in Instabul.
For Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah whose second-minute penalty opened the scoring, this game offered him redemption after being injured in last year’s final in Kiev.
After the opening goal, the rest of the first half drained on without much action. Defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson kept Spurs back with their movement and crosses for most of the half.
The second half also started without much energy. Then, Divock Origi replaced Roberto Firmino in the 58th minute. After that, Spurs started firing shots at Alisson, who responded with big saves.
Today, Alisson was another key cog in blanking Spurs. In stark contrast to Loris Karius, Alisson made eight saves while taking control of his backline.
Toronto FC and United States Men’s National team member Jozy Altiodre was astonished by Liverpool’s goalkeeper’s performance.

Meanwhile, Origi finished off the game with an 87th-minute goal to give Liverpool a 2-0 lead and a Champions League crown. Origi has been an absolute machine for the Reds, scoring four goals in Liverpool’s last four games, including three Champions League daggers against Barcelona and Spurs.
Trophies are what all European teams want to win. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp took him his first trophy with the Reds, while Tottenham’s quest for European glory goes on for another year.
