High Salary Guards

Players costing over $12,000

Steph Curry (at TOR – $15,500): Needs 57.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 47.5 fantasy points against Toronto. Steph was good in Game 1 although you’d probably like a little bit more out of him given the salary. The Raptors defense was always going to be tougher on him than the Blazers defense and that’s not going to change in Game 2. But he’s still Steph and he’ll figure it out. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Kyle Lowry (vs GS – $12,000): Needs 44.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27.7 fantasy points against Golden State. Lowry couldn’t score in Game 1 but that’s how it goes for him sometimes. I’m not worried about him because he’ll continue to get numbers in other areas and the scoring will tick up in Game 2. He still makes a good PRO option but I wouldn’t go any higher than that on him. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Klay Thompson (at TOR – $12,500): Needs 47.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.5 fantasy points against Toronto. Klay is a guy who needs to be better for the Warriors. But like I was worried about Steph seeing a tougher defense, I had those same concerns about Klay. And he doesn’t create his shots as well or do other things as well as Steph. The ceiling is still high and he’ll probably end up with a big game because the Warriors will figure out ways to get him going. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
