Fantasy Football 2019 – Dynasty League Rookie Rankings
Fantasy Football 2019 – Dynasty League Rookie Rankings
Last year I opened up my dynasty league’s rookie draft to the readers. And it was a big hit! The results of the draft can be found here. But that is enough about 2018 Fantasy Football. Look outside, it is June of 2019. That means, boys and girls, that Fantasy Football season has officially started and with it are our Dynasty League Rookie Rankings . My leagues draft is next week and you bet your bottom dollar that I will post the results for ya!
But again, that wont be posted until next week. What you came here for are rookie rankings. Well, you are in luck if you are looking for rookie rankings, because this is the very list that I am using in preparation for my dynasty league’s rookie draft. I have also added a quick scouting report to each of the top 12 prospects. Hope this helps you take home the trophy.
Dynasty League Rookie Rankings PPR
1 – Josh Jacobs, RB OAK – Last year at this spot you were taking Saquon Barkley. Rough year to finish last, eh? The Alabama product was one guy in a 3-headed monster. The tread is hardly worn on his tires. The 5’10” 220 back can do a little bit of everything, and does it all at a plus level. His 40 time (4.60) may be concerning for those drafting him, but he went in the 1st round for a reason. PRO COMP: Mark Ingram.
2 – N’Keal Harry, WR NE – The Patriots usually know what they are doing. This pick seems very safe. I think it lacks upside, but he can be a good player for the Pats. Harry is a specimen, 6’2″ 220 with 4.5 speed and a solid frame. He is not the typical Brady-receiver, but he is a good complement to the WRs on the Pats roster. PRO COMP: JuJu Smith Schuster.
3 – David Montgomery, RB CHI – If you want upside, look no further. Montgomery showed a propensity for elusiveness during his college career at Iowa State, leading the country in missed tackles. He will face the task of eluding Tarik Cohen and Mike Davis to earn some playing time in the Chicago backfield. PRO COMP: Matt Forte (because of the vision/patience).
4 – Miles Sanders, RB PHI – I will honestly admit that I am not a huge fan of Sanders. He deserves this spot though. Anytime a team trades up for a guy, you have to respect their opinion. Sanders sat behind Barkley because Barkley is a stud. But this guy is far from Barkley. He lacks explosion, but is a very capable runner with a smooth style. He put up solid numbers his senior year and at the combine. This is the RB version of the N’Keal Harry pick. PRO COMP: TJ Yeldon.
5 – Parris Campbell, WR IND – I grew up in the Midwest and I now live in Michigan, so its possible that I am just being a Big Ten homer. I do not think so though. I am super high on Parris Campbell. The guy is fast (4.31 40 at the combine), he is explosive (40in vertical), and he put up big numbers last year with Dwayne Haskins (90rec, 1063y, 12TD). Now, he has the fortune of lining up alongside TY Hilton with Andrew Luck throwing him the ball. Yes please. PRO COMP: Percy Harvin.

6 – A.J. Brown, WR TEN – Did you think I was going to go with a different Ole Miss WR? Don’t worry, I will expunge on him soon. Brown has the size and quickness to be a good WR in this league. He can win one-on-one match-ups due to his thick frame and quickness. His ceiling is capped by the situation that he enters and his inability to separate against elite college corners. PRO COMP: Davante Adams.
7 – Deebo Samuel, WR SF – I may be one of the few who is not a Jimmy G fan. However, I am a Deebo Samuel fan. I really like his game, but I would rank him as an extremely risky pick. He couldn’t stay healthy throughout his college career and he has tight hips, which is a red flag for injury risk. When the guy plays though, he is nails. Strong hands, good routes, good breaks on the ball. He reminds me of Anthony Miller, who also scared people off due to injury concerns. PRO COMP: Anthony Miller.
8 – Mecole Hardman, WR KC – Hardman is a polarizing name on rookie draft boards. I have seen him as high as 2nd rookie off the board. The whole Tyreke Hill situation really throws a wrench into my evaluation. Yes, Hardman is an impressive athlete (4.33 40). But he is not Tyreke Hill. No matter how much you want him to be. Mahomes will make him better, bt it will take a while. Hardman only has 2 years of WR under his belt. He is very raw. If their goal was to replace Tyreke, then they should have went with Parris Campbell. PRO COMP: Taylor Gabriel.
9 – DK Metcalf, WR SEA – DK is a beast. 4.33 speed and a 40 in vertical in a guy who is 6’3″ 230? That is beast. More so in the gym than on the football field, though. He goes into a tremendous situation, with Russel Wilson throwing him the ball, and a WR corp that is devoid of experience. DK has rare size and speed, but his hips are tight. Go routes and fades are more in his wheelhouse.

10 – T.J. Hockenson, TE DET – This kid is smart, he is strong, he is athletic, and he has good hands. He is the complete package for an NFL tight end. That being said, the expectations for a rookie to in fantasy football are extremely low. Tight end takes time to master. In my opinion, rookie TEs do not put up gaudy numbers because they are asked to do a little bit of every position. That means they have to work on other aspects of their game other than just worrying about running and catching. If you have a bench that you can park this guy on, do it. He will be a good one. PRO COMP: Trey Burton.

11 – Darell Henderson, RB LAR – Half way into the 2018 season Todd Gurley‘s position atop the LA Rams RB depth chart looked pretty safe. But something happened to the star RB that seems like it could be serious. The situation became more unclear when the Rams drafted Darell Henderson. I am not saying that Henderson can take an injured Gurley’s place, but he is capable of taking over if Gurley’s knee is not right. Henderson is a “big play” running back. He is explosive, a plus pass catcher, and has excellent balance on contact. The knock on Henderson is his size (5’8″ 208) and the fact that he amassed his production against poor competition at Memphis. PRO COMP: Mike Davis.
12 – Marquise Brown, WR BAL – Hollywood is off of my draft board due to medical concerns. But he does not have to be off of yours. If you want a risky pick at the end of the 1st round then go with Marquise Brown. He is the closest thing to Tyreek Hill in this draft, but with far less scandal. The speedy WR really impressed me at Oklahoma this year. The concern I have is the Lis Franc injury that ended his year. I do not have access to his medical records, but I have experience in orthopedics and that is not an easy injury to recover from. Time will tell whether his rehab was successful. PRO COMP: Tyreek Hill.
