Women’s World Cup: 10 (non-USWNT) players to watch
Lina Magull (Germany)
Alongside Marozsan is Magull, another amazing midfielder who has helped spearhead the German attack. Magull, who grew up a rabid Bayern Munich fan (despite growing up near Dortmund), now plays for the club. She’ll be making her World Cup debut this summer after recording seven goals in 30 matches.
Germany are a favorite at this tournament because of a player like Magull in the lineup. She has been a member of the team since 2015, although she did not make the World Cup roster that year. Considered one of the most gifted players in Germany at the moment, Magull is explosive offensively, while also using her speed to track back to force turnovers in the midfield.
Magull is the type of player who can disappear for stretches of games, but is always deadly once she gets the ball. Like past greats, Magull can change the course of a match with a flick or a shot. She will be hoping to do some of that in France.
