3. A.J. Derby

Derby has experience in the Patriots system, having been drafted by the Patriots in 2015. During his rookie year he looked like an up-and-coming player, before they traded him to Denver for a fifth-round pick. Perhaps the Patriots didn’t think they needed him, but he would be a big addition now, since he knows the system and has played with Brady before.

He is currently an unrestricted free agent, after finishing last season on injured reserve with the Dolphins. The Patriots could sign him for the minimum and he’d add important depth.
