1. Kyle Rudolph

Rumors have been flying for weeks about a potential Rudolph trade to the Patriots. Since the Vikings are up against the cap and drafted Irv Smith, Jr. as their tight end of the future, they seem inclined to trade or cut Rudolph and his $7.6m cap hit.

It may be true the Patriots wish they’d made the move since they may have to be a bit more frantic in negotiations to add a tight end now. The Vikings may be able to squeeze more out of them in a deal, but it would likely be worth it for the Patriots to give up even a third-round pick to get him. He is smart and a good blocker, and he is an adequate pass catcher as well.

There is no one available who could give them the immediate boost that Rudolph could give them. It is time for Belichick to make that call and get a deal done.
