AJ Styles set to miss a month due to injury
WWE Superstar AJ Styles is suffering from injury but he isn’t expected to miss significant time.
It’s been reported by many in the wrestling media that WWE Superstar AJ Styles will be out of action for the time being due to an injury, and it’s been common knowledge that the former WWE Champion has been “banged up” for quite some time. Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer reports that AJ Styles is expected to be out for a month.
It’s possible that Styles is working through multiple injuries. On his MIXER channel, Styles detailed issues with his shoulder. Fightful had the transcript:
"I’ve got something going on with my AC joint. It’s rubbing up against bone and we thought I had a fracture. It may not be the case, which is a good thing. It may require a shot to keep the swelling down. It’s not a major injury. It’s just wear and tear. Hopefully, it doesn’t keep me out for very long. I can’t stand being out but I haven’t had rest in a long time. So I’m going to take time to rest my body so I can be back. WWE has made sure we’ve dealt with this injury properly. Trust me, I want to be back. I want to earn my money."
However, WWE had initially characterized Styles’ ailment as a back injury. Meanwhile, Fightful had also reported that Styles’ issue is actually with his calf. No matter what is going on — shoulder, back, calf or all three — none appear all that serious, given that he’s set to miss only a month of action.
It’s worth mentioning that according to WWE’s official website, Styles is currently featured on WWE’s advertising for their upcoming Stomping Grounds pay-per-view, which takes place on Sunday, June 23.
