5 possible landing spots for James Rodriguez this summer

While James Rodriguez is coming off of a down year at Bayern Munich, the Real Madrid attacking midfielder is a world-class talent who could help a number of top clubs in Europe.

Bayern Munich have decided not to purchase James Rodriguez following an up-and-down loan spell in the Bundesliga, so the Colombian will return to Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane is not expected to keep James around after loaning him to Bayern in his first stint as Real’s manager, so teams will be free to bid on the attacking midfielder.

Although no concrete links have been made at this time, James has been thrown around in several early transfer rumors this summer. From a potential reunion with Carlo Ancelotti to a surprising signing from Liverpool, Rodriguez has unsurprisingly been the source of much speculation thus far.

Here are five possible landing spots for James this summer, as 2019-2020 could be the year that a chance of scenery allows Rodriguez to fulfill his immense potential.

PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have the financial resources to sign James with ease, and they’ve been linked to the midfielder multiple times in 2019.

A possible trade between Real Madrid and PSG involving James and Neymar could be possible, as Real have their eyes set on acquiring the biggest superstars in the world.

Real struggled in the Champions League and placed third in La Liga, so they are desperate to acquire multiple world-class players like Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah.

Of course, James was once heralded as a possible top-10 player and he’s still 27 years old. On a team that boasts Angel Di Maria, Neymar, Mbappe, Edinson Cavani, and Julian Draxler, James could shoot for career-highs as a chance creator.

Rodriguez, though more than capable of scoring himself, is at his best when setting up others, and he could be a great luxury player in PSG’s almost unrealistically good attack.
