High Salary Guards

Players costing over $12,000

Steph Curry (vs TOR – $16,500): Needs 59.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 40.6 fantasy points against Toronto. A lot will depend on the status of the other Warriors. If there is no Klay or Durant, the Raptors can load up on Curry and force him out of the game in a big way. If he has just one of those two, he becomes much freer. He’s still Steph and we know he can deliver a big game but he’s a risk as the MVP unless he has Durant or Klay. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Kyle Lowry (at GS – $11,500): Needs 41.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 18.2 fantasy points against Golden State. Lowry still can’t get it going and now it might be time to start worrying. The minutes and opportunities will continue to be there for him but he’s got to show something because he just doesn’t have it thus far in the first two games. I can’t in good conscience say he’s a good option right now. He’s a risk but could swing your league in a big way. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Klay Thompson (vs TOR – $12,000): Needs 45.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 40.5 fantasy points against Toronto. He is a game-time decision but expects to play, so check his status before making any decisions. My guess is that he plays but who really knows. And if he doesn’t play, that’s going to change a lot of dynamics for the Warriors. A guy like Quinn Cook becomes a stronger option. Assuming Klay plays and Durant doesn’t, Klay remains Klay. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
