High Value Guards

Players costing under $12,000

Fred VanVleet (at GS – $8,500): Needs 30.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 31.8 fantasy points against Golden State. You can’t stop VanVleet, you can only hope to contain him. He’s playing great basketball right now and as Kyle Lowry continues to lose and find his game, VanVleet has been a steady option ever since the ECF. Until he shows signs of falling off, you can keep taking him. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Andre Iguodala (vs TOR – $9,000): Needs 33.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30.6 fantasy points against Toronto. Iguodala showed no signs of being injured in Game 2 and ended up hitting the biggest shot of the game. He’ll always be a good option simply because of the minutes he gets and his ability to put up numbers in all categories. And he’s a safety valve on so many plays for the Warriors. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Danny Green (at GS – $7,500): Needs 28.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 12.5 fantasy points against Golden State. Green was down in Game 2 but he will continue to get the minutes due to his defense. His offense is still streaky and that’s obviously the concern for him. He’s still at a good enough price given the minutes but you should be able to find a way to get VanVleet over Green if you’re trying to decide between the two. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
