Adam Gase enters the 2019 NFL season with a ton of pressure around him, as he will be opening up his second stint as an NFL head coach within the same division. After being the head coach for the Miami Dolphins from 2016-18, Gase was fired at the end of last season, quickly landing on his feet with the New York Jets.
With the Jets, not only will Gase be the head coach, but at press time, he is currently the interim general manager of the franchise as well. The 41-year old has shown that he can win at the NFL level, including against AFC East powerhouse New England, and he has a nice cast of players on the roster in year one in New York.
The Jets were very busy during the offseason, bringing in guys like LeāVeon Bell and CJ. Mosley to bolster both sides of the ball. In addition,Ā they spent an early first round draft pick on a franchise quarterback last offseason, and with Gaseās reputation for growing quarterbacks, this seems like a good fit at this point in Sam Darnoldās career.
Those who speak of Gase speak of his tireless work ethic, and the fact that he is an absolutely incredible football mind. It will be interesting to see how he can clash with his new roster, because he ruffled some feathers in South Beach, and in the New York media, that kind of thing is magnified times 1000.
