During his time at Texas Tech, Kliff Kingsbury was one of the more prolific passers in college football history, leading the Red Raiders to three bowl games. However, after toiling around in the NFL, though winning a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots as a rookie, Kingsbury found himself playing in NFL Europe, as well as the CFL.

Once he decided to hang up his cleats, Kingsbury quickly was added to the staff at the University of Houston, where he worked his way up from quality control, to the offensive coordinator position. After leaving for Texas A&M for the 2012 college football season, where he would be the Aggies’ offensive coordinator and quarterback coach, Kingsbury would be named the school’s head coach in 2013.

Kingsbury was the Aggies head coach until last college football season, ending a six-year run with a dismal 35-40 record. After being fired at Texas A&M, Kingsbury agreed to join the staff at USC as the offensive coordinator, but when the Arizona Cardinals came calling with their head coaching gig, it was an opportunity he could not pass up.

During his time in college, Kingsbury got to work with some fantastic quarterbacks, including Patrick Mahomes, who is one of the best young talents in the game. After drafting Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in 2019, the hope is Kingsbury is the perfect guy for the job in Arizona, and that he can have more success at the NFL level than he did in college in his new role.
