St. Louis Blues take the lead, Max Kepler’s big night, Peter Lambert dazzles and more highlights from June 6, 2019.

Blues take advantage

Moments after the Blues should have been called for a tripping penalty, they scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal. As you would expect, the Bruins were not happy about the play. Such a shame for a Boston team to be on the wrong side of a bad whistle.

Lambert rocks

Peter Lambert (no relation) set a Rockies franchise record, striking out nine batters in his MLB debut and helping the Rockies to a 3-1 win over the Cubs. I don’t know much but I know one out of 10 Lambert’s will go on to success. Congrats on joining Miranda and Adam, Peter.

Straw’s triple sets up Astros win

It took five hours and 14 innings, but a lead-off triple by Myles Straw set up a sacrifice fly and an Astros victory over the Mariners. Five hours for a sporting event sounds like a long time but those complaining clearly are not wrestling fans.

Netherlands best England

The England defense was out for tea on a brutal series of mistakes that cost them a chance at advancing to the UEFA Nations League final. Kyle Walker scored the game-winning goal for the Dutch, setting up a showdown with Portugal.

Kepler’s three bombs

Max Kepler hit three home runs against the Indians, which is pretty impressive. It’s even more impressive that this is the second time in his career that he’s done it against the Indians. If only Max Kepler could play the Indians 162 times a year. At the very least sign with the Indians so he can play 86 games at Progressive Field.
