Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: June 7th, 2019

Tonight’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks slate features 14 games with, Milwaukee (6), Houston (5.3), Los Angeles (5.3), and Boston (5.2) , holding the best projected team totals. With a handful of high-priced pitchers available, finding value will be imperative for success. We’ll be aiming to highlight MLB DFS picks from the perspective of batted ball data, batter splits, and line movement.

MLB DFS Standout Picks: Batted Ball Stats

Travis Shaw – DK $2700, FD $2400

The Brewers have the highest projected team total on the slate, and one of the beneficiaries should be, Travis Shaw. Shaw is outrageously cheap on DraftKings tonight at only $2700. In the last 15 days, his batted ball distance is up 65 feet, his hard hit percentage is up 38%, and his exit velocity is up 13 MPH, over his yearly averages. To start the year he was priced well into the $4000 range, and given his absence and recent return, you’ll be able to get him at a discount tonight.

Mookie Betts – DK $4400, FD $4200

If you have the salary room, it would be wise to consider, Mookie Betts, as he’s severely discounted on DraftKings tonight. Betts has been priced as high as $5400 last month, so tonight’s price is significantly cheaper. Given the price reduction you would think that his recent batted ball  numbers would be down, but that’s simply not the case. In the last 15 days, his batted ball distance is up 4 feet, his hard hit percentage is down 1%, and his exit velocity is the same, compared to his yearly averages.

Batter Splits

Ji-Man Choi – DK $4100, FD $2800

If you’re a fan of positive player splits, Ji-Man Choi should be a player to look at tonight. Choi has crushed righties, and will draw the righty, Rick Porcello, tonight. He is significantly better against right-handed pitching, with a .379 wOBA split (.140 better than when facing a lefty) and a .221 ISO split (.164 better than when facing a lefty).

Line Movement

Milwaukee will play host to the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates tonight, in a game in which the Brewers opened as -240 favorites. This steep price got even larger, as they now sits as -270 favorites in some spots. The total has also seen some movement. It opened at 9, and is now up a half of a run to, 9.5. This movement should bode well for Brewers batters, as they’ll face the righty, Rookie Davis. Davis currently holds an ERA of 7.96 as a reliever in the majors and his minor league numbers aren’t encouraging either.

When you’re looking to stack a team that is facing a reliever that is thrust into a starting role, it’s important to analyze how under/over worked the bullpen is in recent games. We know they wont let Davis throw anywhere near a starter’s pitch count, so we can expect them to turn to the pen sooner rather than later.

dark. Next. MLB DFS Pitching Primer - Friday, June 7

When looking at tonight’s game, it’s another encouraging sign for the Brewers batters, as Pittsburgh has one of the most overworked bull pens on the slate, over the last few games. If you’re looking to stack the Brewers they are definitely cheaper, as a whole on FanDuel, but will obviously be in play on both sites.
