3. Marcus Stroman
Stroman has made no secret of his interest in moving to a contender this season. It’s easy to envision the New York native pushing for a move to the Bronx.
Don’t let Stroman’s 3-8 record fool you, he’s been a solidly above average starter this season for Toronto. His 3.31 ERA deserves a much more flattering win-loss record.
The Blue Jays will also feel pressure to move Stroman because of his impending free agency. Their chances of signing him to a new deal are pretty small. He may be the pitcher on this list with the highest chance to move in the next month.
Toronto’s front office might start out by asking for Estrada, but Cashman will shut down that request immediately. He’s not moving in a deal for Stroman. Instead, look for Frazier to be the guy to move in this kind of deal. He could help the Blue Jays by replacing Rowdy Tellez at DH or Teoscar Hernandez in left field. The Blue Jays might want to push for a little extra value, but a straight swap represents fair value for both teams in this instance.
