Sunday’s ceremony will be familiar to TV fans in a number of ways. CBS is once again airing the Tonys, under the bright lights of New York City. They’ve also recruited a former host to come back again this year: James Corden, actor, comedian and host of CBS’s The Late Late Show with James Corden. With him running the show, it definitely won’t be the usual boring awards show.
But the 2019 Tonys have plenty of drama in the nominations, too. Some of the season’s best productions didn’t get even get nominated for Best Play (we’re looking at you, Network and To Kill A Mockingbird).
