NBA Finals 2019: Toronto Raptors vs. Golden State Warriors Game 5 live stream: Watch online
By Ian Levy
The Warriors find themselves in an unfamiliar position in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Raptors — on the road and facing elimination. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.
The Warriors have faced incredible adversity in these playoffs, suffering through a slew of injuries. The result is a 3-1 series deficit in the NBA Finals that has them facing the elimination in Game 5, on the road, against the Raptors. The Warriors know, from unfortunate experience, that no series lead is safe but it will take an epic effort for them to climb out of this hole.
News that Kevin Durant practiced Sunday and is questionable to play in Game 5 has to give them some measure of hope though. While the Warriors don’t know exactly what they’ll be able to get from Durant or how it will affect the rest of the team’s rhythm, simply having another healthy(ish) body is a huge deal. Durant in the lineup would mean Golden State could go small again and not have to rely so much on the ineffective pairing of Andrew Bogut and DeMarcus Cousins or the injured Kevon Looney.
On Toronto’s side, they’ll be hoping the same formula keeps working — Kawhi Leonard carrying the offense, Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam making plays around him, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Danny Green and Fred VanVleet hitting open shots and bringing defensive intensity. The Raptors are now overwhelming favorites but they can’t lose focus and give the Warriors any opening to get back into this.
