The big question during the 1989 NFL Draft circled around two Sanders, which we already touched on with Barry Sanders at No. 3 overall. For the Atlanta Falcons, they have to be happy with who they got in that draft as well, as Deion Sanders would go on to become one of the best cover cornerbacks in NFL history.

An incredibly gifted two-sport athlete during his time at Florida State, Sanders would enter the NFL as one of the flashiest prospects the game had ever seen. Known as Primetime, Sanders would play five seasons for the Falcons, going to three Pro Bowls, while being named a First-Team All-Pro three times as well.

Of course, Sanders was not only known for his exploits on the football field, but also in Major League Baseball, where he also played for the Atlanta Braves among other teams. One of the great athletes of all-time, Sanders won two Super Bowl in consecutive years, one with the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX, and the with the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XXX.

A member of the College and Pro Football Hall of Fames, Sanders was the NFL’s 1994 Defensive Player of the Year, as well as an 8-time First-Team All-Pro. In 2006, Sanders retired for the second time in his NFL career after a two-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens, and will go down as one of the more electric players in the history of the game.
