WWE NXT UK Preview June 12, 2019: Watch online

Previewing the June 12, 2019 edition of NXT UK, featuring a titanic six-man tag match main event.

The battle for who controls the future of NXT UK comes to a head, as British Strong Style battle Imperium in what is sure to be one hell of a main event.

Of course, we started heading down this road three weeks ago, when WALTER took the coward’s way out of his United Kingdom title rematch with Pete Dunne. Caught in a submission that seemed like it would cut the head off of his nascent title reign, the champ received some help from rather unexpected sources: Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel. Aichner pushed the bottom rope within reach of WALTER’s foot, while Barthel drilled a distracted Dunne in the back with the United Kingdom Championship.

Previously only featured as a talented if underachieving tag team obsessed with punishing those whose views on wrestling differed from their own, Aichner and Barthel have shot up the NXT UK hierarchy. Aligned with the most dominant force on the entire brand, they are suddenly positioned as two-thirds of a stable with the potential to shift the direction of NXT UK.

Standing in the ring together two weeks ago, the trio who call themselves Imperium declared the dawn of a new era in NXT UK. An era spearheaded by them, for the betterment of the brand and of their entire sport of professional wrestling. Most importantly though, an NXT UK with Imperium at the forefront would be an NXT UK that casts British Strong Style aside.

British Strong Style — Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Trent Seven — have been the heroes, the pillars of this first year of NXT UK. Overwhelmingly popular and responsible for some of the best matches in all of WWE these last few years, they have set the standard for how great the brand has the potential to be.

As you might imagine, getting called out in the middle of the ring by three guys who just cheated to steal a championship match doesn’t sit well with any of Dunne, Bate or Seven, and the three hit the ring. Cheaters though they may be, Imperium do not back down and it is on. A brawl ensues that features unbelievable carnage such as [scene missing] reaching a new level of heretofore unseen violence when [footage lost] with the most absolutely crazy [redacted] you’ve ever seen. Wild stuff. These six are going to tear each other’s heads off.
